  1. Tone Nirvana!!!! No joke.

Posted by Jordon Brosseau on 18th Aug 2011

    I have one word: Wow.

This pedal is absolutely INSANE!!! Just got it in today, first thing I did was pop a battery in that sucker and plug 'er into my loop... LOVED IT!!

This compressor is absolutely amazing, you don't lose any of the loud notes, the softer ones are just boosted, and this preserves a good amount of your playing dynamics, even with the compression ("Sing") cranked (I have mine at about 2:30).

There is also A LOT of power potential with pedal's output ("Push"), I have it at about 10:30 on mine, and it is LOUD, even with my amp's volume at 2.5 in the clean channel.

Tone wise, the Coca doesn't colour your tone so much as it puts it under a magnefying glass. It really pulls out the subtleties and the little nuances of your tone.

Operation wise, nice and quiet. I cranked both knobs up just for fun, and it started to give me some noise, but keeping in mind I have single coil pups, so it was pushing a lot of the pup noise as well.

I play a Peavey Reactor as my main guitar.... Say what you want about it, I find it rivals even $800 - $1200 Fender Teles. It has all stock parts, including stock pups, and my tone went from sounding pretty good to 110% pro as soon as I dialed in the Coca.

All in all, this pedal is worth every single penny. If stolen, I'd buy a second one in a heartbeat... and maybe a third just in case :P

A big THANK YOU to 6degreesmusic as well, checkout was simple and the shipping was lightning-fast; I wasn't expecting the pedal to arrive for another 2 days!!! :)

  2. UNBELEIVABLE

Don't bother with Ross clones and dark sounding Keeley Comps. This IS Just about the punchiest compressor. Does NOT squash and destroy the tone of your guitar.
Its such a great tone enhancer, not in a "color my tone" way, but in adding a sparkle and lusciousness that your tone is missing.
With 4:1 ratio, and its "reverse compression, in which it actually leaves your louder string alone and simply raises the less loud ones, this comp seemly leaves the dynamics alone and really just compresses the strings that need to be. Absolutely outstanding pedal. I leave it on ALL the time and when its not on i get the "whats the hecks going on". Simply cant do without it if i lost it or got it stolen, this would be instantly replaced! The one pedal that will never leave my board. I use it AFTER my distortions, and the sustain is better and the feel in my fingers, is so spongey but not loose.. its perfect! GET THIS COMP, look no further!

  3. Mirai

Awesome. Got this on a recommend from 6 Degrees Music, Great Pedal. The description is bang on accurate. It doesn't change your sound, it enhances it... It's one of those pedals that you just have to hear to "get it" ... i leave mine on 10,10... keep it on for everything. :) Sounds best on single coil.

And they weren't kidding when they said no noise/hum... this thing is completely silent... no unwanted noise at all. German engineering!

Simple design.. well built.. you're paying for quality here. I give it a 10/10
