  1. Best OD I have ever used.

Posted by Andy C on 29th Apr 2011

I love this pedal. The online videos definitely do NOT do it justice. Incredible! The tone is natural and smooth... The 3 knob EQ makes it so easy to tinker with tone. Very clean. How to explain... it's not all over the place. Hard to compare with anything else.

There's Dist, OD1 and OD2 all are pretty distinct from each other. My favorite is the OD1. Sounds great on humbuckers and single coils.

The buffer switch didn't seem to do much for me, i just leave it off. I think it "simulates" a tube amp? I run this thru a tube head anyways... It's the only switch on the pedal that's "meh" for me.

The look and build is incredible. Not that it effects the sound in anyway but this thing really is a work of art. I did open it up once. Compare the craftsmanship of this pedal to most/any other boutique style pedal and this one stands way above. Craftsmanship is 11. Seriously. This pedal and all other AYA pedals scream quality.

If i had one complain... All the controls are either on the left side or the right side of the unit which might make it difficult to use for some. It's trivial but can also be a bit annoying. But due to it's size... I can't really see the controls being placed anywhere else without clutter. This solution seems to be the better of two evils.

I got the 2010 version, black knobs/white stripe which actually works out for the better because it makes the knobs really easy to identify what each one is set to.

    In short... Get it.

  2. So Many ODs/Distortions, this one Stands out..

I've been wanting this pedal for about a year a half. Finally got the funds to purchase it, and its s purchase I wish i made years ago. Most online vids of this pedal, from the so few out there, DO NOT do this pedal justice. It has to be seen and heard in person.
Firstly these pedals are true works of art., simply beautiful pedals. AYA's pedals are all just gorgeous.
The tone is right where you want it, in your face, powerful, yet meticulously dynamic and smooth. This pedal has SOOOOO MANY options. the EQ is powerful... VERY powerful, a little goes a long way! 3 different gain stages, OD1, OD 2 and Dist, my favorite being the Dist. this pedal is EXCELLENT at the high gain. cleans up amazingly well. feels like a true stack amp rig. unbelievable. you WONT regret it!
